A simple, privacy-first way to get your lost belongings back — without putting your phone number or email address on show.
Lost & Returned is a lost-and-found service built around small physical keytags. Every tag carries a unique ID and a printed QR code. You attach a tag to the things you would hate to lose — keys, a wallet, a school bag, luggage, a laptop, a bike or a pet collar — and register it here in a couple of minutes. If the item ever goes missing and someone finds it, they simply scan the QR code with their phone camera. The tag page opens with a short form where the finder can say where they found the item, where it is now and how to reach them. We then email all of that straight to you so you can arrange the return.
The important part is what a finder never sees: your email address, your phone number and your home address stay hidden. Messages reach you through us, so a stranger holding your keys never learns who you are or where you live. No app download, no account needed for the person who finds your item — just a phone camera.
Anyone who owns something that would be a real nuisance to lose. That includes people who are always misplacing their keys, students and commuters, families labelling school bags and sports gear, travellers putting tags on suitcases and camera bags, cyclists and dog owners. If you would rather not print your mobile number on your belongings for every passer-by to read, a Lost & Returned tag gives finders a way to reach you while keeping your details private.
Lost & Returned is an independent, small-scale project built and run by Sarah, Abbi and Luke — not a large company. The tags are ordered in small batches, packed and posted by hand, and the site itself is maintained by the same people who answer your emails. That means real replies rather than a ticket number, and it also means the privacy promise above is something we can genuinely stand behind: your details are only ever used to pass a finder's message on to you.
Finders contact you through us. Your email is never shown on a tag page.
A finder just scans the QR code with their phone camera — nothing to install.
One tag, one page, one email. Getting an item back should not be complicated.
